These Projects are facilitated and prepared by Mitzvah Day. They are ready to do, can be done anywhere in the world and "How To" sheets with full instructions are available.
Join a team visiting a residential care home to bring smiles to the residents. Sing, read, perform or join in whatever needs doing.
A wide range of projects for different types of volunteers.
Stand outside a local supermarket and encourage shoppers to purchase extra items which are then donated to a charity of your choice.
Makeover a room or space in a hospice/drop in centre/care home/children's home/refuge.
Host a lunch or tea on site for a particular local group needing care e.g. senior citizens, children with learning disabilities or refugees.
Support the AJEX parade.
Plant trees in Heartwood Forest, St Albans, apply for a tree-planting pack from the Woodland Trust to plant trees anywhere in the country in an area of public benefit, or plant tress at the Woodland Cemetery in Cheshunt with the Jewish Joint Burial Society.
Collect new and good-as-new items for one of a list of key charities.
Donate your 'lunch' - any fresh sandwiches or fruit - to a local homeless shelter at lunchtime.
Run a planting or growing project with another faith to be part of A Year of Service
Organise a crafts, baking or cooking projects to produce items which can be donated to a local cause, for example decorated gift boxes for children.
Plant bulbs in flower pots on Mitzvah Day and continue to take care of them afterwards
Work to improve the environment through local initiatives, including cemetery clean-ups, work on city farms and parks.
