Partnership Agreement

We are delighted that you wish to be a Mitzvah Day Partner 2010 "Partner Organisation". We exist to encourage people to do Good Deeds on one day of the year, Mitzvah Day. We encourage excitement about and involvement in social action, we support charities and build stronger communities.

Principles:

  • We give our time, not our money - no fundraising.
  • Projects can be done in a day.
  • Our vision is to address poverty, environmental issues or to bring a little joy where it is needed.
  • We support existing charities – we don’t create new ones.

Responsibility of the Partner Organisation:

  • To run a Mitzvah Day in line with the shared Principles above
  • To become Registered Partners on the Mitzvah Day website.
  • To choose projects which support the core vision.
  • To be ultimately responsible for the projects – in terms of staffing, volunteers, costs, local logistics and insurance.
  • To be responsible for making sure that accompanying adults with children or vulnerable adults have the appropriate Criminal Records Bureau check (CRB) where necessary.
  • To designate a named coordinator to act as the key contact with MDUK and who will attend at least one meeting or seminar if based in the UK, or will have a full briefing session by telephone if based in another country.
  • To give feedback and key data (not names) to MDUK after the day.
  • To support the growth of Mitzvah Day by using the MD name, logo, publicity materials and merchandise appropriately.

Responsibilities of Mitzvah Day:

  • To operate a volunteer and professional staff to support the Mitzvah Day Partners throughout the process of building a Mitzvah Day.
  • To create a web site, publicity materials and merchandise.
  • To develop both Global projects (ready to go) and also ideas for local ones (specific to a local Partner).
  • To broker projects for charities and to ensure they are well conceived.
  • To run training meetings and seminars for coordinators.
  • To provide a named point of contact for each Partner.
  • To provide merchandise for all registered Partners (on time) – some free and some available to purchase.
  • To promote Mitzvah Day through the media and to specifically try to maximise coverage for registered Partners.
  • To act as a cross communal body within the community.
  • To offer introductions for Partners wishing to use Mitzvah Day to foster Inter – faith links.
  • To generally help and be a resource to the Partners wherever possible.
