Hundreds of revellers partied into the early hours last Sunday morning while helping to support a very good cause. The Mitzvah Day Mingle brought around 250 partygoers to 19:20 in Clerkenwell, where they enjoyed a musical mixture of club classics and Israeli tunes. Instead of paying a traditional entrance fee, people donated items including toothbrushes, clothing and CD’s – most of which will be donated to Shanti House, a youth shelter in Israel. The event’s main organisers were Gary Sakol and Laura Zink-Haller. Sakol, director of Israel Connect, which was one of the young professional organisation that hosted the event, said: “It was an absolutely incredible night. Not only did everyone have fun but they also achieved something worthwhile too. Giving goods instead of money is definitely a method that should be replicated at future events”
