GIFT is an independent volunteer organisation whose purpose is to encourage and promote a culture of giving and volunteering amongst young jews in the community. Our projects include Bread and food rescue, Helping Hands, The Gift Box and Gift It Forward. Bread and food are collected from bakeries at the end of each day and redistributed every second day to needy families, homeless shelters and other organisations in the community with the help of volunteers. Helping Hands places school children with single parent families to help after school with reading and teatime help. The Gift Box is a project that encourages shoppers to buy an extra item when out shopping which is then packed and donated to needy fa,ilies and organisations. Gift It Forward encourages school children to donate one of their own presents when receiving so many at birthdays or celebrationary occasions.
