For over 130 years, ORT has been educating people in the skills they need to gain employment and so support themselves, their families and their communities, breaking the cycle of poverty and charitable dependence. At the present time, over 250,000 students in 56 countries across the globe are educated by ORT every year. 

British ORT works to support ORT programmes in Israel, the countries of the former Soviet Union and elsewhere, helping communities to build themselves up through the skills of their members.
