Kol Chai joined thousands of volunteers to celebrate Mitzvah Day on Sunday November 16th. We were happy to involve several children from Middlesex New Synagogue as well. Children from religion school spent the morning involved in a number of activities. The younger children along with their assistants packed boxes of gifts for Barnado's. Everyone found it quite difficult to cover shoeboxes but we managed to fill 48 boxes which were taken to Banado’s. Two classes went to Stanmore Common and helped the Harrow Nature Conservation Forum in conserving and cleaning up the Common. The older classes went to Neasden and helped pack clothes and bedding for World Jewish Relief. They were joined by several other Kol Chai families who were also helping out. Meanwhile some adult members asked shoppers outside Steve’s Deli in Stanmore to buy extra groceries to donate on their way out. We managed to take 5 crates of goods to The New Hope Trust in Watford.| < Prev | Next > |
